Appointment of Non-Executive Director

 

The Vitec Group plc ("Vitec") the international provider of products and services for the broadcast, photographic, military, aerospace and government (MAG) markets is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Fairbairn to the Board of the Company as a non-executive director with effect from 1 February 2012.  She will join the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

 

Commenting on the appointment, Michael Harper, Chairman of Vitec said: "I would like to welcome Carolyn to the Board of Vitec at this exciting time in the Company's development.  She brings extensive experience of both listed companies and the broadcast sector that will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy."

 

Carolyn Fairbairn, BA, MA and MBA, is currently a non-executive director of the Financial Services Authority.  Until April of this year, she was Director of Group Development and Strategy at ITV, having also spent five years as Director of Strategy at the BBC and a member of its Executive Board.  Carolyn has also been a partner at McKinsey, where she specialised in media, and a policy adviser in the Number 10 Policy Unit.  Previous non-executive roles include chair of Friends Reunited, chair of the Royal Television Society, and director of Digital UK and Freeview.

 

There are no further matters to be disclosed in accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
