Michael Peacock to be Finance Director

                            Board Changes

Victrex  plc announces the appointment, with effect from 1 February
2000, of Mr Michael Peacock as Finance Director.

Mr  Peacock, 41, is a qualified accountant and spent seven  years  in
investment banking with Barclays de Zoete Wedd and Hill Samuel before
moving  into  industry  in 1990.  He was Finance  Director  of  Viva!
Health  and  Leisure Clubs Ltd from 1994 until its recent acquisition
by  Stakis Plc.  He is a non-executive Director of OSL International,
a software and services provider.

Mr  David  Tilston, currently Finance Director of Victrex  plc,  will
resign  his position as a Director and leave the company with  effect
from the same date.

Note re. listing Rule 6.F.2

In accordance with Listing Rule 6.F.2 (introduced by the London Stock
Exchange with effect from 10th January 2000), Victrex advises that in
1991  Mr Peacock became Group Finance Director of Peaco Sport Limited
(now  called Outdoor & Sports Company (Holdings) Limited)  ('Peaco').
As  a part of his role, in April 1992, he was appointed a Director of
Running  Wild Limited, a non-core business that had been acquired  as
part of a group of companies by Peaco in 1991.  Mr Peacock's role  at
Running  Wild  was  to wind down its remaining insignificant  trading
operations  and to put it into liquidation.  Running Wild was  placed
into  creditors voluntary liquidation in December 1992, the principal
creditor  being  another  wholly owned  subsidiary  of  Peaco.   This
subsidiary and Peaco itself continue to trade today.
