Half Year Trading Update
The Company announces its trading update for the six months ended 31 March 2008.
Trading in the first half has continued in line with expectations. We have
achieved further sales growth, with record first half sales volume of
approximately 1,293 tonnes, some 6% ahead of the second half of last year (1,222
tonnes) and in line with the previous first half of 1,286 tonnes.
•United States volume showed continued growth at 418 tonnes which was 4%
ahead of last year's second half of 402 tonnes and 7% ahead of the previous
first half of 389 tonnes.
•European sales volume saw a return to growth at 646 tonnes, which was 10%
up on the second half of last year (587 tonnes) and close to the previous
first half (656 tonnes).
•Asia-Pacific sales volume was maintained at 229 tonnes, in line with the
second half of last year (233 tonnes) and 5% below the previous first half
(241 tonnes).
•At approximately £11.7m, revenues of Invibio(R), the medical implant
materials business, continued to show good growth, up by 19% on last year's
second half of £9.8m and by 23% on the previous first half of £9.5m.
The announcement of the Company's results for the six months ended 31 March 2008
will be made on Tuesday, 20 May 2008.
