Appointment of Non-Executive Director

 

Vianet Group plc (AIM:VNET), the leading provider of real time monitoring systems and data management services for the leisure, vending, and forecourt services sectors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Williams to the Board as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

 

Chris brings extensive commercial and corporate experience, sector knowledge and financial acumen to the Group having joined Whitbread plc, the UK's largest hotel and restaurant group, in 1974.  In 1990 he was appointed Strategic Development Director of the Whitbread Beer Company, the division of Whitbread that brewed, marketed and distributed beer, which included responsibility for international operations.  Following the acquisition of the Whitbread Beer Company by AB InBev in May 2000, and its subsequent entry into the UK market, Chris was part of the team that restructured the business, and remained involved in the InBev business in both the UK and Europe following his retirement.  Projects he has been involved in include developing InBev's UK distribution strategy and acquiring the distribution rights to the Beck's beer brand,

 

Chris is a trustee director of the AB Inbev UK Ltd Pension Plan and is chairman of the investment committee of both the AB InBev UK Plan, and the Stag Brewing Plan.
