New Contract Wins

IBNet PLC 16 July 2001 IBNet WINS SIX NEW CLIENTS IN THE BRAND AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SECTOR IBNet plc, ('IBNet') the UK based Internet surveillance and corporate intelligence company, today announces a further six new client wins in the last six weeks prior to the year-end of 30 June 2001 for its Netdetec and Branddetec services. Three companies with internationally known brands and three UK based Intellectual Property Legal specialists will use IBNet to identify and respond to brand abuses on the Internet. Initial three-month contracts worth £100,000 in total have been signed with all six companies. The total ongoing value of these contracts is over £400,000 per annum. IBNet is also in advanced talks with a further three international brands of a similar size. The new monitoring contracts are with: A global sports footwear and clothing company - IBNet will search primarily for counterfeit goods using the client's brand being sold on the Internet as well as other brand abuses. An international cosmetics and toiletries company - IBNet will provide the company with comprehensive monitoring of its well known brands and recently launched products A global delivery and logistics company - IBNet will monitor content concerning the company's services and clients as well as providing corporate intelligence and market knowledge. Additionally IBNet has been retained by three Intellectual Property law firms for a series of specialist research initiatives. These will review intellectual property abuses on the Internet in specific market sectors. The research will provide a valuable insight into these markets and develop new customer opportunities for all parties. The new contracts build on the recently announced sales partnership with Hemscott.co.uk ('Hemscott'). Under the partnership Hemscott will market IBNet's Sharedetec Internet monitoring service, which focuses on detecting stock market abuse to its new and existing clients. The Company will be announcing its results for the year ended 30 June 2001 in early September, which will be in line with expectations. Looking forward, the Board believes that the prospects for the new financial year look promising. David Bickers, Head of Marketing, said: ' As these contracts show, IBNet's expertise in the Brand and Copyright arena is being recognised. IBNet already has some 15 clients on board. We recently returned from the Brand and Licensing Show in New York with a number of good business leads. We are also developing further routes to market for our products with established suppliers. The future looks very positive.' Commenting on the contracts and new partnerships, Mark Ommanney, Chief Executive said: ' These contracts are excellent news for IBNet. It is frustrating that due to the nature of the work we undertake we are unable to disclose our client's identities. The abuse of intellectual property and brands on the Internet is a huge threat to the integrity of many companies. Our Internet surveillance system provides them with cost effective monitoring of all content concerning their brand on the net. The intelligence we provide allows clients to counter fraud, libel, defamation and brand infringement. ' In addition to Branddetec, our Sharedetec service now has a significant route to market through our partnership with Hemscott. Through these and other initiatives we are building a strong pool of internationally recognised blue chip clients. This is developing a robust income stream for us. The potential for our Internet monitoring products is huge, and these new contracts are the tip of the iceberg.
