VALUE AND INCOME TRUST PLC ('VIT')

(the 'Company')



The Company announces that Matthew Oakeshott resigned as a Director of VIT on 31
March 2006 and is replaced by Angela Lascelles, who rejoins the Board as a
Director of the Company on 1 April 2006.  Matthew Oakeshott continues as a
Director of VIT's property subsidiary, Audax Properties plc.



Matthew Oakeshott and Angela Lascelles remain VIT's Investment Managers as they
have been since 1986.


In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) of the Listing Rules, Angela Lascelles 
has confirmed that she is not a director of any other publicly quoted companies 
and in addition, that she has been a director of Audax Properties PLC and Value 
and Income Trust PLC within the last five years.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (2)-(6) of the Listing Rules there are no 
disclosures to be made.
