Utilico Emerging Markets Limited ("the "Company") announces that it was notified on 22 December 2009 by General Provincial Life Pension Fund ("GPLPF") that on 22 December 2009 GPLPF sold 734,912 ordinary shares at a price of 124.5p per share and purchased 750,000 S Shares at a price of 23.5p per S Share.  GPLPF is a substantial shareholder in Utilico Limited, holding 52.6 per cent. of the ordinary shares. Utilico Limited holds 24.6 per cent. of the ordinary shares of UEM. Following these transactions, GPLPF is interested in 189,516 ordinary shares, representing 0.1 per cent, of the Company's issued share capital and 750,000 S Shares representing 8.2 per cent of the S Shares.
