United Utilities appoints Non-Executive Director

United Utilities Group PLC announces the appointment of Alison Goligher OBE as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2016. On appointment Alison will become a member of the Audit, Nomination, Remuneration and Corporate Responsibility Committees.

Alison currently serves as a non-executive director of Meggitt PLC and is also a member of its Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. From 2006 to 2015 she held various roles at Royal Dutch Shell, the multinational oil and gas company, and prior to that spent 17 years at Schlumberger, a supplier of technology, integrated project management and information solutions to oil and gas customers worldwide.

United Utilities' Chairman, Dr John McAdam said:  "We are delighted to announce Alison's appointment as a non-executive director. Her industrial and engineering background will be a great asset to the Board."

Alison will also be appointed as a non-executive director of United Utilities Water Limited with effect from 1 August 2016.

There are no further details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 (2) to (6) of the Listing Rules in relation to Alison Goligher.
