Director's Interest in share options

Philip Blair Carr today joined the Board of Directors of the Company as 
Finance Director.

Mr Carr gave notice to the Company today that he had received options over the
following ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company on 21 June 2000.

* United Overseas Group Plc Approved Employee  
  Share Option Scheme:                                   123,711 shares
* United Overseas Group Plc Unapproved Employee 
  Share Option Scheme:                                   376,289 shares

The exercise price of the options is 24.25 pence per share.
