NAL orders antennas for SHOUT nano Iridium tracker

Sarantel Group PLC, (AIM: SLG, 'Sarantel'), a leading manufacturer of high-performance, miniature filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces production orders for its second-generation Iridium antenna to equip the new SHOUT nano from NAL Research Corporation (NAL).

The SHOUT nano is a handheld, global, two-way satellite messaging and personal tracking device. It utilizes Iridium's short burst data (SBD) service to provide location information, text messaging, and emergency e-mail alert notifications. With its compact size, rugged design and ability to work anywhere in the word, the SHOUT nano is especially useful for military, government and commercial tracking applications.

As announced in 20 October 2009, Sarantel provided first-generation Iridium antennas for NAL's earlier SHOUT communicator. The smaller nano device will use Sarantel's second-generation Iridium antenna, which is 30% smaller in volume.

Ngoc Hoang, President of NAL Research said:

"Sarantel rose to the challenge of improving the antenna's performance while reducing its size for this leading edge satellite communication device. NAL Research's customers demand higher performance in smaller and smaller packages and by working with Sarantel on the Shout nano program we were able to deliver."

David Wither, CEO of Sarantel said:

"NAL Research continues to push the boundary for compact 2-way satellite messaging and its focus on high performance and robust two-way satellite communication distinguishes the Shout Nano as the premier personal safety and tracking device. We were pleased that they challenged Sarantel to develop a higher performance version of our successful 1st generation Iridium data."
