Product & Trading Update

Sarantel Group PLC 13 February 2008 13 February 2008 SARANTEL GROUP PLC Product and trading update Sarantel (AIM: SLG, 'the Company'), the leading manufacturer of revolutionary filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, has started delivering prototype production quantities of the world's smallest stand alone GPS antenna to a major Asian consumer OEM, as the Company continues to make good progress. Sarantel's new antenna is the 3rd generation of GPS antennas developed and requires 60 per cent. less volume (space) than the previous generation, while maintaining comparable performance. Sarantel expects this new antenna to be embedded into a wide variety of small, highly integrated, lightweight hand portable mobile devices. It is 12mm long and 7.5mm in diameter. The Board believes that this development coupled with an encouraging customer pipeline positions the Company well for strong growth in its core GPS business. As announced on 12 November 2007, the Company continued to reduce its cost base and the monthly amount of cash required as the order book builds. At 31 January 2008 cash balances stood at approximately £1.4 million (of which £0.6m was held to secure leasing liabilities). The Company is pursuing a range of financing options and shareholders will be kept informed of developments. David Wither, Chief Executive of Sarantel said: 'This prototype product is a dramatic step forward in technology and is a compelling solution for multiple applications, where consumers look to have GPS capabilities in a broader range of mobile devices. 'We are very excited by the developments in our GPS business and with the range of customers who are now evaluating the Sarantel antenna solutions.'
