Sarantel Group PLC 09 January 2007 9 January 2006 Sarantel Sarantel Lands First Double Antenna Win Sarantel's GeoHelix(R)-P2 GPS Antenna and SkyTune(R) Satellite Radio Antenna combine in the Bushnell ONIX 400, world's first handheld navigation device with Satellite Radio. Sarantel (AIM: SLG), the leading manufacturer of revolutionary filtering antennas for mobile and wireless devices, announces its first-ever contract to provide two different antennas for a portable consumer device. Sarantel will supply its revolutionary GeoHelix GPS antenna and its SkyTune Satellite Radio antenna for the new Bushnell ONIX 400 - the world's first handheld navigation device with built-in satellite radio for real-time weather alerts. Launched yesterday, the ONIX 400 has already won a 2007 CES Innovation Award at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Navigation and real-time satellite radio reception are technically challenging. Bushnell selected Sarantel's miniature antennas because their small size and high performance enabled it to create an innovative handheld product without compromising on GPS accuracy and satellite radio reception - important factors for hikers. Sarantel's filtering antennas are omni-directional and maintain high performance even when in close proximity to each other, or the human body. The ONIX 400 allows the display of weather data, GPS and aerial/satellite imagery on top of mapping data. The user can subscribe to Live XM weather feeds including animated Doppler radar and severe storm tracking and warnings. Additionally, the user can take advantage of XM Satellite Radio entertainment options. Jason Luzar, Bushnell GPS product manager says: 'Sarantel's GPS and Satellite Radio antennas enabled us to achieve a rugged, high performance device with a superior level of integration. This multi-function hand held GPS device allows users to navigate, download satellite imagery, aerial photography, topographic maps and get real time weather information from XM Satellite Radio. Bushnell and Sarantel are raising the bar in device convergence with the ONIX 400.' David Wither, CEO of Sarantel says: 'The Bushnell ONIX 400 is a truly innovative product creatively combining world class GPS performance with real time satellite radio weather data in an exciting, hand held package. Sarantel's antenna technology is ideal for this type of highly integrated, hand portable device where antenna performance is critical. We are delighted Bushnell selected both of our antennas for this truly remarkable product. Sarantel's antennas are a perfect fit given the high level of integration and performance required by Bushnell.' In a separate release today, Sarantel announced that it will supply Geohelix S antennas for the world's smallest GPS tracking device, the mywerk Nanotrack.
