TT electronics Wins Prestigious Industry Award

TT electronics is pleased to announce that its integrated manufacturing services division TT electronics - ims has won a prestigious industry award. The business was named Manufacturer of the Year in the electronics industry's annual Elektra Awards at a ceremony held in Munich in conjunction with the 2008 Electronica Show. The awards were hosted by leading technology publication Electronics Weekly.

The annual Elektra Awards are presented to manufacturing organisations that have made exemplary contributions to the electronics industry and have exhibited the highest level of product and service offerings.

In their citation, the judges said that they were impressed by the way that TT electronics had integrated its five IMS manufacturing sites around the world into a global operation, offering customers with small to medium production volumes the facility to choose the manufacturing location best suited to the needs of each manufacturing project.  

Earlier this year, TT electronics announced the formation of its integrated manufacturing services division, uniting the strengths of five electronic manufacturing services businesses strategically located around the world to service its growing worldwide customer base. The moved created the biggest UK-owned global electronic manufacturing services (EMS) organisation and the 25th largest EMS operation in the world.

Commenting on the award, TT electronics' Group Chief Executive, Geraint Anderson said:

'These are considered to be among the most prestigious awards for our industry and we are therefore delighted to have been named as Elektra 'Manufacturer of the Year'. It is a great endorsement of our new local-global model introduced this year, which enables us to offer to a much wider customer base services which were previously available exclusively to high volume customers.'
