Tristel PLC 20 March 2007 TRISTEL PLC Grant of Patent Tristel plc ('Tristel'), the AIM listed provider of infection and contamination control products, announces that it has been granted a patent from the UK Patent Office for its Chlorine Dioxide Generator, known as the Tristel Generator. The Tristel Generator delivers the company's proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry, which is highly effective in destroying all types of bacteria (including bacterial spores, tuberculosis and MRSA), fungi and viruses and is one of a small group of sporicidal agents that is safe and easy to use. The Tristel Generator is used to produce a high-level disinfectant for endoscopes and dental unit water lines as well as producing bacteria-free rinse water for instrument washer-disinfectors. It is also used for biofilm elimination and Legionella control. The Tristel Generator produces a continuous supply of chlorine dioxide, at concentrations that are set by the user and can be varied manually irrespective of the water flow. Tristel's core product range of instrument disinfectants has become the market leader in the UK Acute & Private Hospital sector. They are used to decontaminate heat sensitive endoscopic and ultrasound instruments in over 375 hospitals, representing some 60 per cent. of all UK NHS Acute & Private Hospitals.
