Grant of patent

Tristel PLC 03 January 2008 TRISTEL plc Grant of Patent Tristel plc ('Tristel'), the AIM listed provider of infection and contamination control products, announces that it has been granted a patent by the European Patent Office for its chlorine dioxide generation system. The new patent, EPO no 1644051, relates to Tristel's Generator which is used to dispense Tristel's proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry. Tristel Generators are employed in the decontamination of endoscopes in a number of United Kingdom hospitals with Tristel products being used in over 375 hospitals, representing some 60 per cent. of all UK NHS Acute & Private Hospitals. Tristel is in the process of adapting the Generator for use in buildings' water supply systems, enhancing the capabilities of its Tristel Technologies subsidiary which focuses upon legionella control. Tristel operates through two subsidiaries: Tristel Solutions, which provides infection control products based on chlorine dioxide chemistry to the healthcare marketplace and Tristel Technologies, which uses chlorine dioxide chemistry for legionella control in buildings' water systems (including those of hospitals) and contamination control in the food growing and processing industries.
