Acquisition update

Tristel PLC 09 August 2006 Tristel plc Acquisition update Tristel plc ('Tristel'), the healthcare business which uses its proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry for infection control in hospitals, in water treatment and the food processing industry, reports that the integration of Tristel Technologies Limited ('TTL') (previously Vernagene Limited) is making good progress and that the performance of the business is in line with management expectations. TTL, the chlorine dioxide specialist focusing on water treatment and contamination control in food processing, was acquired on 5th June 2006 at a cost of £1,000,000, funded by cash of £800,000 and a £200,000 loan provided by one of Tristel's shareholders. Progress made with the TTL business and in Tristel's core activities in the hospital marketplace will enable Tristel to repay early the £200,000 loan from internally generated cash flow. It is expected that the loan will be repaid during August 2006. TTL will make a positive contribution to Tristel's results for the year ended 30th June 2006 which are expected to be announced in October.
