                      Appointment of New Company Secretary


With effect from 1 April 2004, Mark Belton will assume the role of Company
Secretary at Trifast plc, a position currently held by Stuart Lawson, Group
Finance Director.

Mark joined the Group's principal trading subsidiary TR Fastenings as Finance
Manager in 1999. He was promoted to Group Accountant in 2000 and European
Financial Controller in January 2003. Aged 34, Mark qualified as a Chartered
Accountant with KMPG in 1994.
