Notification of a Transaction of a Director

In accordance with Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.2. (R), the Company was notified on 1 October 2012 that Richard Hope, Group Finance Director, transferred 1,921 ordinary shares of the Company into his SIPP, of which he is the sole beneficiary, at a price of 329p per share.  The shares are registered in the name of Alliance Trust Savings Nominees Limited.

The above transaction does not affect Mr Hope's total beneficial holding, which stands at 10,971 shares being 0.10% of the issued share capital of the Company.
