The Board of Travis Perkins plc has today received notification from Standard
Life Investments that following the purchase of 43,400 shares on 27 June 2003 it
has a material interest in 3,389,717 shares, representing 3.007 per cent. of the
Travis Perkins issued share capital.

The shares are registered in the name of Stanlife Nominees Limited.
