On 2nd April 2003 Mr. Paul Hampden Smith, a Director of Travis Perkins plc ('the
Company'), purchased 1418 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company from the
market and not from his wife, as originally stated. His beneficial interest of
4,419 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company remains the same.
