Paul Hampden Smith, a director of Travis Perkins plc, has today exercised
options over 20,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company, at a price of
307p under the terms of the Company's 1995 Executive Share Option Scheme.  Mr
Hampden Smith now has a beneficial interest in 27,001 ordinary shares in the
Company.
