Travis Perkins plc ('the Company') was yesterday notified that Mr Paul Hampden
Smith, a Director of the Company, purchased 3,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in
the Company at a price of 1553p per share on 18 September 2007.


As a result, Mr Hampden Smith now has a beneficial interest in 35,477 ordinary
shares of 10p each in the Company, representing less than 0.1% of the issued
share capital.
