Director Shareholding

In common with all eligible employees, each of the executive directors and
members of the Company's Executive Committee were invited on 22nd September 2005
to participate in the Company's Share-save scheme and were given an option to
buy shares in the Company in 3 or 5 years time at an option price of 1159p.

Geoff Cooper, a director of the Company, elected to apply to join the scheme and
was on the 14th October 2005, granted an option over 1,389 shares, which will
normally be exercisable between 1 December 2010 and 31 May 2011.

Richard Bird, a member of the Company's Executive Committee, also elected to
apply to join the scheme and was on the 14th October 2005, granted an option
over 806 shares, which will normally be exercisable between 1 December 2008 and
31 May 2009.
