Travis Perkins plc ('the Company') was notified yesterday that a trust of which
Mr Paul Hampden Smith, a Director of the Company, is a trustee, purchased 160
ordinary shares of 10p each in the Company at a price of 1497p per share on 16
October 2007. The beneficiaries of the trust are Mr Hampden Smiths' minor
children.

As a result, Mr Hampden Smith now has a beneficial interest in 35,665 ordinary
shares of 10p each in the Company, representing less than 0.1% of the issued
share capital.
