Re: Notice of Repurchase and Cancellation of Ordinary Shares of TOTAL


Please be advised that in connection with TOTAL'S share repurchase program, 
TOTAL S.A. reacquired 1,730,000 of its ordinary shares, nominal value 10 euros 
per share, in November 2004, through trades executed on the Paris Bourse. TOTAL 
S.A. also cancelled 19,873,932 of its ordinary shares on November 20, 2004 
(meeting of the Board of Directors : November 9, 2004).
