             Total wins four blocks on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

Paris,  December  20,  2005 - Total  announces that its wholly owned Norwegian
subsidiary, Total E&P Norge a.s., has been awarded four offshore zones, within
the framework of the APA (Awards in Predefined Areas) 2005 bidding round.

Total will be the operator on two of these blocks.

position in Norway where the Group presently produces close to 400,000 barrels
of oil equivalent per day.
