                        Cancellation of treasury shares

The Company announces that on 22 June 2004 the Company cancelled 3,785,240
ordinary shares of 2.5p each, held previously as treasury shares.

Following the cancellation of such treasury shares, the Company now holds
380,605 Ordinary Shares in treasury and the total number of Ordinary Shares in
issue less the total number of Ordinary Shares held in treasury is 228,046,030
Ordinary Shares.
