Change to Board of Directors

FW Thorpe plc has today announced the appointment of a new executive director
to the Board of FW Thorpe plc. This appointment is effective from 1 July 2000.

The new director is Mr Michael Allcock (age 32) - Technical Director of
Thorlux Lighting, the Group's industrial and commercial lighting products
division.
