Expoloation Update

Thor Mining PLC 01 March 2007 THOR MINING PLC Commencement of 2007 exploration program at Molyhil Dated: 1 March 2007 Thor Mining PLC ('Thor' or the 'Company') the specialist metals company currently focussed on advancing tungsten-molybdenum and uranium projects in the Northern Territory of Australia, today announced the start of its 2007 exploration program on the Molyhil Tungsten-Molybdenum Project ('Molyhil') in the Northern Territory of Australia. Highlights • RC drilling at Molyhil commenced this week; and • The 3,084m program is designed to infill and extend beyond the proposed DFS pit design. The aim is to increase the reserve and resources and ultimately extend the proposed life of mine. Summary A program of reverse circulation drilling totalling 3,084m has been designed to infill and extend beyond the proposed pit design outlined in the recently completed definitive feasibility study ('DFS'). The DFS confirmed the viability of a mining and processing operation based on a JORC compliant resource for the Molyhil deposit of 2.4 million tonnes grading 0.8% combined tungsten WO3 and molybdenum MoS2 to a vertical depth of 150 metres. The operation would be based on an open pit mining operation and 300,000tpa process plant with an initial 4-year mine life. The proposed shallow ( <100m) drilling is planned to extend the mine life within the planned pit designs. This infill program will focus on up dip of zones of Hanging Wall mineralisation discovered in last year's reverse circulation drilling program. The deeper drilling is to be completed with a view to extending the life of the mine by underground mining at the cessation of the current proposed open pit operations. The resource here can be increased by targeting extensions to several of the deeper zones below the Southern ore body. The overall objective of the program is to increase the reserve and resources and ultimately extend the proposed life of mine at Molyhil. Thor's development of Molyhil is being conducted in parallel with its Northern Territory uranium exploration program due to begin in late March, subject to final approvals from the Northern Territory Department of Mines.
