This announcement replaces RNS 6736N released at 17.00 on 8 February 2008 which
incorrectly stated the number of shares purchased for cancellation. The number
of shares actually purchased was 5,100,000. The full corrected announcement is
reproduced below.





Tesco PLC announces that on 8 February 2008 it purchased from JPMorgan Cazenove
5,100,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 388.4928 pence per share. The
purchased shares will be cancelled.
