New Site Secured

TEG Environmental Plc 06 April 2006 For Release 7:00 a.m. 6 April 2006 TEG ENVIRONMENTAL PLC SOMERSET SITE SECURED WITH PLANNING PERMISSION TEG Environmental Plc, ('TEG' or 'the Company'), the cutting edge green technology company, which converts organic wastes into natural organic fertiliser, has secured planning permission to develop a site at Clayland's Corner, Somerset, with partners Halberton Poultry Ltd ('Halberton'). Planning permission was granted by The Planning Inspectorate following an appeal by Halberton and TEG made in 2005. TEG intends that the operation will be geared towards the production of its high value, high quality EnVigro(TM) fertiliser and derivatives. It will initially have a nominal feed capacity of 8,000 tonnes per annum, producing 5,500 tonnes per annum of fertiliser. The plant should be operational by the end of 2006. The operation will be developed with the site owners, Halberton, with Halberton completing infrastructure and building construction and TEG installing and operating its TEG Silo Cages. Fertiliser screening, blending and bagging will also be carried out by TEG, while Halberton will carry out product distribution through its logistics business. Commenting on the development, Chief Executive Mick Fishwick said: 'This is another building block in the development of the TEG business. Our Animal By-Product business is developing very rapidly, but there is also a continuous and growing demand for high quality products such as EnVigroTM, with prices rising rapidly, to reach well over £100 per tonne, for organic, peat free products. It is with great satisfaction that we and Halberton have finally achieved planning permission at the Clayland's Corner site, and we are looking forward to bringing another TEG plant on stream. The site has huge potential for growth and we hope to go from strength to strength in the region.' Plant economics are driven by the gate fees charged, rather than the value of the end product (compost). The TEG process is an economic alternative to landfill. The Silo Cage system, one of the few technologies in Europe capable of treating this waste, is a natural process producing compost as an end product, used as an excellent soil conditioner that fertilizes, retains moisture, provides structure and reduces the incidence of plant disease. TEG's Silo-Cages will be housed in a self-contained building, are not unsightly and are environmentally friendly. Potential customers include local authorities, waste management companies, food processors, farmers and landowners. The Company's expanding market is driven by increasingly stringent EU and UK legislation regulating the treatment and disposal of organic waste.
