The Board of Temple Bar Investment Trust PLC is pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Gary Allen to the Board with effect from 2 April 2001.

Mr Allen is Deputy Chairman of IMI PLC and is a non-executive director of the
London Stock Exchange
