Telefonica, S.A. has filed with the Spanish National Securities Market
Commission (Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores- CNMV) the Individual
Annual Accounts of 'Telefonica, S.A.' and the Consolidated Annual Accounts of '
Telefonica S.A.' and its 'Group of Subsidiaries' for 2005 financial year.


The aforesaid Annual Accounts will be submitted for approval of the next Annual
General Shareholders' Meeting of the Company, that is tentatively scheduled for
June 20th, at first call, or on the day after, that is, June 21st, 2006, at
second call.


Two copies of the documents have been submitted to the UKLA and will shortly be
available for UKLA's Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
