       Transaction In Own Shares - Total Voting Rights and Share Capital



The Company is pleased to announce that it has today purchased 425,000 ordinary
shares of 5p each at a price of 185 pence per share to be held in treasury.

Following this transaction, a total of 2,628,341 shares will be held in
treasury.

The total number of shares (excluding those held in treasury) in Telecom plus
PLC is therefore 66,403,522.

The above figure (66,403,522) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Telecom plus PLC, under the
Financial Services Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
