                               Board Appointment

Telecom plus PLC, the UK's leading integrated multi-utility provider (gas,
electricity, telephony, internet), announces that Melvin Anthony Lawson is to
join the Board as a Non-Executive Director with effect from today.

Mr Lawson, 47, is Managing Director of A Beckman PLC, a company formerly listed
on the London Stock Exchange which was taken private in 1995, and is currently a
director of a number of other companies with a wide range of investment
interests.

Peter Nutting, Chairman, of Telecom plus said:

'We are delighted that Melvin has agreed to join the Company. He will bring
considerable additional commercial acumen to the board, which will be of value
as we continue to develop and grow the Company's unique multi-service offering
to our increasing customer base.'

Melvin Lawson said:

'I am delighted to be joining the Board of Telecom plus. I look forward to
contributing to the business and helping to enhance shareholder value.'

Mr Lawson is interested in 2,050,000 ordinary shares, representing 2.99 per cent
of the issued share capital of the Company.

There are no further details in respect of this appointment required under LR
9.6.13 of the FSA Listing Rules to be disclosed.
