Team Expansion and Opening of New Offices

-Tekcapital Welcomes New Additions to its Technology Transfer, Client Services and Sales Organisation-

-Science Advisory Board Strengthened with Six New Appointments-

-New offices opened in Miami and Singapore-

Tekcapital plc (AIM: TEK), an international provider of technology and IP services, is pleased to announce the expansion of its team and the opening of new offices in the United States and Singapore.

 

In its IPO Admission Document, published on 31 March 2014, Tekcapital stated that it intended to use part of the net proceeds of the placing to accelerate the growth and expansion of its sales and marketing team and for the recruitment of additional support staff.  To meet anticipated demand for its services, the Company has hired the following individuals, covering the areas of technology transfer, client services and business development.

 

James Deane, Ph.D., MBA, has joined the Company as Managing Director of Technology Transfer (Physical Sciences and Low Carbon Technologies). Dr. Deane will also serve on the Company's Science Advisory Board.  Dr. Deane was previously Associate Director Engineering, Office of Technology Commercialization, Purdue Research Foundation and Office of Technology Transfer, University of Michigan, where he managed the energy and low carbon portfolio.

 

Amy Shim, MBA, has been appointed as Director of Client Services (California).  Amy has played a key role in providing service and support to large U.S. institutional investors and technology companies. Prior to joining Tekcapital, she was responsible for account management and institutional client relations at Western Asset Management and worked within the corporate finance group at Moody's Investors Service in New York. In addition, Amy has served as a strategic adviser and consultant to several innovative companies developing low carbon vehicles.

 

Jason Goldstein joins as Sr. V.P Business Development (New York).  Jason is an accomplished business development professional with 15 years of investment banking experience. Previously at Livingston Securities where he started the capital markets group, Cabot Lodge securities in the capital markets group, Maxim Group where he served as Sr. V.P. of Institutional Sales and Prudential Securities where he served as V.P. Middle Markets.

 

Furthermore, demonstrating Tekcapital's long-term commitment to developing a multi-national offering to support it customers, the Company has opened a new office in Miami, Florida, for the coordination of its US operations, and in Singapore, to support client acquisition and marketing activities in the Far East.

 

The Company regrets to announce that Umesh Amin will be stepping down from his role as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Client Services for personal reasons. Umesh will work with the Company to enable an orderly transition of his responsibilities. 

 

Tekcapital has also enhanced further its Science Advisory Board with the addition of the following six experts to strengthen the Company's offering in several industries:

 

Irina Serebrennikova, Ph.D.

Electrochemistry, New Materials and Batteries

Irina previously served as a Technology Engineer and Electrochemist at Energizer Battery, where she was responsible for developing and managed internal and external partnerships and led cross-functional efforts, with key vendors, academic and industrial experts, aimed to improve the quality and reliability of Energizer products. Irina was also responsible for sourcing new energy technology opportunities.

 

John Tao, Ph.D.

Combustion Technologies with particular expertise in gas separations, coal conversion and biofuels

John has previously served as vice president of open innovation at Weyerhaeuser, where he headed the Open Innovation Department, responsible for the management of the corporate intellectual asset management process, technology partnering, and early business development. Prior to this, John was corporate director of technology partnerships at Air Products and Chemicals Inc. where he was responsible for worldwide external technology development, intellectual asset management, licensing and technology transfer with outside organizations, and government contracts.

 

Charles Brumlik, Ph.D., J.D.

Energy, Alternative Energy, Cleantech, New Materials and Intellectual Property Assessment

Charles is the managing director at Nanobiz LLC and has a strong track record in international technology commercialization of Advanced Materials, Specialty Chemicals, and Industrial Processes. Charles previously served at Honeywell International Inc. and Exxon Mobil Corp.

 

Andris Abele

Low Carbon Technologies

Andris currently serves as the Senior Technology Strategist at the Institute for Technology Advancement, University of California, where he focuses on clean energy and environmental technologies. Prior to joining UCLA in 2008, he served as the executive director and chief technology officer for Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide and has over 25 years of clean technology experience including alternative fuels, electric vehicle drivetrains, energy storage, fuel cells, renewable energy resources, smart grid, and supporting infrastructure. 

 

Bob Benson, Ph.D.

Molecular Sciences and Nano-technology

Bob previously served as the director of business development, office of technology development, at Harvard University.  Prior to this, Bob was supervisory technology transfer Specialist, office of technology transfer at the National Institutes of Health.  He has also worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner.    

 

Jerald Alan Cole

Advanced energy technologies, fuel cells, combustion engineering, air quality

Jerald was previously Manager for Research and Technology at GE Energy and Environmental   Research Corporation, Sr. VP and CTO of Optisense LLC and CTO of Hydrogen Ventures LLC. Jerald has also served as a research fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
