                            RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR



The board of T. Clarke plc ('T. Clarke'), the electrical engineering and
contracting company today announces that with effect from 31 July 2003 the
Deputy Chairman, John Nixon will stand down from his role due to ill health.

Pat Stanborough, Chief Executive commented,

' John has been a loyal servant to T. Clarke for over 40 years. On behalf of us
all at the company, as friends and colleagues, I would like to thank John for
his efforts and congratulate him for his many achievements during his career
with us. We will miss his wise counsel.'
