LETTER TO:  COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENTS OFFICE

We hereby give notice that a directors meeting will be held on Thursday the 17th
August 2000, whereat consideration will be given to the release of a preliminary
announcement in respect of the half-year ended 30th June 2000.

It is envisaged that the said announcement will be released to the market first
thing (7.00 am) Friday morning 18th August 2000.
