Taylor Woodrow PLC 23 May 2005 Taylor Woodrow wins planning consent for 2,300 homes in Swindon Taylor Woodrow announces today it has received planning permission for the development of approximately 2300 homes in the Swindon Southern Development Area (SDA). These homes will form part of a major 309-hectare greenfield development extending to 4500 homes including a mix of commercial, leisure and retail facilities. This will be the largest housing development of its kind in the south west of the UK. The project involves Taylor Woodrow acquiring on preferential terms, land held under option as part of its strategic land bank as well as the release to Taylor Woodrow of council land in exchange for infrastructure works. The development is designed to establish new standards in sustainable developments and will provide housing for around 10,000 people. Taylor Woodrow will begin installing initial infrastructure in autumn 2005.
