            TAYLOR WOODROW EXITS MINERAL OPERATIONS

Taylor   Woodrow  plc,  the  international  developer,   today

announced  the sale of its minority shareholding in  The  Fife

Sand  and  Gravel Company Limited to the majority shareholder,

Alexander  Russell plc for approximately £1  million  paid  in

cash.


This  disposal  follows  the  sale  of  Greenham  Construction

Materials Limited in March 2000 and completes the disposal  of

the  Company's minerals operations.  The sale will  allow  the

Company to concentrate on its core activities of international

housing   and  property  development,  supported  by  focussed
