Taylor Woodrow plc ('TW') announces that Taylor Woodrow QUEST Trustee Limited,
a wholly-owned subsidiary of TW has on 26 October, 1999 purchased in the
market 350,000 25p ordinary shares of TW at a price of 143p per share.

The shares have been purchased to meet the requirements of options awarded to
employees of TW and its U.K. subsidiaries under the Group's Savings-Related
Share Option Scheme ('the Scheme') 1994 (5-year options) and 1996 (3-year
options).

The following executive director of TW has an interest in the said shares by
reason of his participation in the 1994 Scheme for which the option price per
share is 108p:
