Retirement of director and appointment of Senior Independent Director

Taylor Woodrow plc, the housing and development company, announces that Sir
George Russell, CBE, a non-executive director, will be retiring from the board
with effect from Monday 19 April 2004.  The board acknowledges and thanks Sir
George for his significant contribution to the business during his term of
office as a director since December 1992.

Upon Sir George's retirement, Mr. Michael Davies, who has been a non-executive
director since October 2003, will become the senior independent non-executive
director of the company.
