As previously indicated at the company's AGM on 7th May, 2003,

Dr Robert Hawley, CBE has retired today, 29th May 2003 as

Chairman and from the board of Taylor Woodrow plc.



A search and selection process for the appointment of a

successor is proceeding. In the interim, Norman Broadhurst,

the company's Deputy Chairman has been appointed acting

Chairman with effect from 29th May 2003.
