Tate & Lyle PLC - Acquisition of minority interests in Amylum and Staley

Tate & Lyle PLC announces that, following EU merger approval being received,
the acquisition of the minority interests in Amylum and Staley has been
completed.
An announcement that Tate & Lyle PLC proposed to acquire these minority
interests was made on 8 June, 2000.
