                 Tanfield Group Plc ('Tanfield or 'the Group')
                                 Trading Update

Tanfield Group have signed heads of terms for the acquisition of ClickHere
Limited ('ClickHere'). ClickHere is an IT training and management development
business based on Teeside with offices in Sheffield and Newcastle upon Tyne. The
acquisition will be for 1,200,000 new ordinary shares and will consolidate the
position of JoeKnowsit, the Groups training business. The Directors expect that
the transaction will be completed before the end of the current year and will be
earnings enhancing in the year ending 31 December 2005.

Tanfield is also pleased to announce that since its recent acquisition, SEV, its
electric vehicle business has won over £1.5 million of new orders. These orders
are from the USA for aerial access equipment and from UK customers for road
going electric vehicles used for refuse collection and deliveries. These new
orders have involved the group winning two significant new customers.

A fuller trading update will be issued at the time of the EGM, which takes place
on 10th December 2004.
