TANFIELD GROUP PLC
ORDER BOOK UPDATE

Tanfield Group plc, the AIM listed technical and assembly solutions business, is
pleased to announce that it has entered into a single source agreement with a
new customer operating within the health sector and has received its first order
under this agreement. The order is in respect of goods for the National Health
Service with a minimum value of £0.9 million in the first year. Deliveries will
commence in June 2004. This latest order is further evidence, the Directors
believe, of the success of Tanfield's strategy of offering turnkey assembled and
technical solutions.
