                       Tanfield Group plc ('the Company')

                                 Board Changes

Following on from the announcement released this morning relating to an
acquisition and the appointment of Martin Groak  as a non-executive director of
the Company, the Company announces the following information relating to Mr
Groak.

He is a director of The AIM VCT plc, JGP Investments plc, non- executive
director of Chaco Resources plc (formerly Gold  Mines of Sardinia plc) and a
director of Marker Management Services Ltd.

Within the last five years Mr Groak was also a director of Medoro Resources Ltd,
Lazarus International Ltd, Lazarus  Metal Resources Ltd and Sardinia Gold Mining
S.p.A but has resigned from each of these companies

In addition, Mr Groak, was a director of Lazarus Metal Resources (UK) Ltd which
was put into administration in January  2001. The administrator exonerated the
directors.

There is no further information which would need to be disclosed under Schedule
2(f) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
