Synstar PLC 21 November 2000 Appointment of new Chief Executive Steve Vaughan, currently Managing Director of the Industry and Commerce Division of EDS UK Limited is to take over as Chief Executive of Synstar. He has held a number of senior management roles at EDS since joining the company in 1986. Prior to joining EDS, he worked for Honeywell Information Systems. Richard Ferre, Chief Executive since 1995, will step down from 1st January 2001. He will continue to support the new Chief Executive in a consultancy capacity during the early part of next year. Due to a decision to simplify the structure of the board, the role of Chief Operating Officer, previously held by Steve Bolton, no longer exists. As a result he has assumed the role of Strategic Alliances and Partnerships Director until May 2001 when he will leave the company. He has resigned from the board of Synstar plc with immediate effect. Commenting on these changes the Chairman, John Leighfield, said: 'I would like to welcome Steve Vaughan on behalf of the Board. He has an excellent track record in the IT industry. The management team looks forward to helping him develop the company to its full potential over the coming years. 'Richard Ferre helped establish Synstar as a leader in its field and played a vital role in the buy-out of the company from Granada and its flotation on the London Stock Exchange. The Board would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all he has done.'
