                      DIRECTORATE CHANGE AND CHANGE TO
                          ACCOUNTING REFERENCE DATE


The Directors of Synstar (the 'Directors') announce that John Leighfield, Steve
Vaughan, Stephen Gleadle, Richard John Piper, John Anthony Osbaldiston and
Josephine Connell have resigned from Synstar's Board of Directors, effective 7
October 2004.

The Directors also announce that Synstar's accounting reference date has been
changed to 31 October, and that the accounting period for the year ended 30
September 2004 has been extended accordingly.

Further to the announcement of 1 October 2004 announcing the appointment of
Stephen Gill, Richard Dean and Mark Lambton to the Board of Directors of
Synstar, the Directors confirm that no further details, as required under
paragraph 16.4 of The Listing Rules, remain to be disclosed.
