                         DIRECTORATE CHANGE

Following today's announcement by Hewlett-Packard Global Investments B.V. ('HP
BV') that its offer for Synstar is declared wholly unconditional, the Directors
of Synstar (the 'Directors') announce the appointment of Stephen Gill, Richard
Dean and Mark Lambton to the Board of Directors of Synstar, effective 1 October
2004.
